Brittaney Wells is the President of WS Strategies, LLC. A political advisory firm specializing in grassroots campaigns. Wells previously served as the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to Mayor Lovely A. Warren at the City of Rochester. In 2018, Wells made history when she was elected as the first African American Chair for the Monroe County Democratic Committee (MCDC). She served as Chair and Executive Director during a period when the local party recorded historic election victories, particularly among women and candidates of color.
Prior to City Hall, Wells worked for then-U.S. Congresswoman Kathy Hochul and also worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington, DC. She has worked on several national, state and local political campaigns, including President Barack Obama’s 2008 election, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 election and in 2020, she was elected as a Biden Delegate. She holds a B.S. in Political Science from SUNY Brockport. Ms. Wells is also a graduate of the United Way’s African American Leadership Development Program (AALDP), she serves as the Political Action Chair for the Greater Rochester National Association of Advancement for Colored People (NAACP) and a Democratic Leader of the Rochester Westside Democrats.
